For real 3D mini golf, play Marigold Mini Golf: six hand made courses, honest putting physics, and pass and play for 2 to 4 people or a game online. For something quicker and cozier, Pebble Putt swaps the ball for a river pebble that skips across water. Both are free in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

Which mini golf game should you play?
- You want the real thing. Marigold Mini Golf. The ball skids, then rolls, banks true off the rails, breaks with the slope and lips out if you hit it too hard. Nine holes take about 10 minutes.
- You're playing with other people. Also Marigold. Pass and play takes 2 to 4 players on one device, and Play a friend connects two devices with a four letter room code, no account needed.
- You want a few minutes to yourself. Pebble Putt. Flick a river pebble across paper islands, and if water is in the way, hit it hard enough to skip over. Holes take 1 to 3 minutes.
- You want a fresh course every day. Both have one: the Daily Nine in Marigold and the Daily Course in Pebble Putt.
The courses
Marigold Mini Golf has eight courses of nine holes, including the new Cloudberry Heights sky islands and the moonlit Lantern Koi Garden. Marigold Meadow is a sunny garden with windmills and a brook. Gullwing Cove has boardwalks, a pirate ship and a cannon that fires your ball onto the upper deck. Sunstone Canyon has temple ruins and a pyramid with the cup on top, and Snowberry Hollow has ice that keeps the ball moving. Play one course as a round, or all six back to back as a 54 hole Tour.
Pebble Putt has an 18 hole Tour of tiny islands, from Shore Thing and First Skip to the par 5 Grand Tour, with lily pads that kick the pebble away, floating logs you can ride and stone gates to time. Endless Islands keeps going until you run out of strokes.
How to putt
- Put your finger or mouse on the ball and drag back, like pulling a slingshot.
- A dotted line shows where the ball will go. The further you drag, the harder the putt.
- Let go to putt. In Marigold, drag back to the ball and let go there to cancel.
- Drag anywhere away from the ball to look around, and pinch or scroll to zoom.
Mini golf tips
- Look for the hole in one line first. Almost every hole has one, often off a rail or through a short cut.
- Gentle pace drops in. A fast ball can ride over the cup and catch the far edge.
- On slopes, aim high on the uphill side. The ball curves more as it slows down.
- Time the moving parts. Windmills, gates and bridges run on a steady beat. Watch one full turn, then putt as the gap starts to open.
- In Pebble Putt, commit to the skip. The most common miss is a shot that's almost fast enough. A pebble that plops costs a stroke.
