Cloud Bounce
A fluffy bunny bounces from cloud to cloud, up through a sunny morning, golden hour and twilight, all the way to outer space. You don't have to jump. You just steer, and try not to fall.
What is Cloud Bounce?
Cloud Bounce is an endless jumping game. The bunny bounces on its own every time it lands on a cloud, so your whole job is steering left and right to land on the next one. Your score is how high you get, in meters. It's free, it runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and there's no download.
The sky changes as you climb, and so do the clouds. The first 60 meters are friendly. After that, things start breaking, sliding, blowing and zapping.
How to play
- Phone or tablet: hold your finger on the left half of the screen to drift left, the right half to drift right. Let go to slow down.
- Tilt: on the title screen, switch Tilt on and steer by tipping your phone.
- Keyboard: Left and Right or A and D. P or Esc pauses, and Enter or Space starts from the menu.
The screen wraps around. Drift off the left edge and you pop back in on the right. You only land on a cloud while you're falling, so you can bounce straight up through a cloud from below and land on top of it on the way down. The run ends when the bunny falls off the bottom of the screen.
Clouds and things in the sky
| Thing | What it does | Shows up from |
|---|---|---|
| White cloud | A normal bounce | The start |
| Crumbly cloud | Holds for one bounce, then breaks | 60 m |
| Moving cloud | Slides side to side | 120 m |
| Spring | Launches you 1.75 times higher | The start |
| Carrot | Collect for the Wardrobe | The start |
| Balloon | Carries you up for a couple of seconds | 80 m |
| Wind | Pushes you sideways while you're in it | 180 m |
| Gray rain cloud | A fake. You fall right through it | 200 m |
| Storm puff | Zaps you: knocks you down, makes you dizzy, pops a balloon | 350 m |
Being dizzy only lasts a moment, but your steering is very weak while it does, which is usually what makes a storm puff hit end a run.
The game gets harder up to about 1,000 meters. Clouds get narrower and the gaps between them get wider.
The sky zones
| Height | Sky |
|---|---|
| 0 m | Meadow Morning |
| 250 m | Breezy Noon |
| 550 m | Golden Hour |
| 900 m | Twilight |
| 1,300 m | Starlight |
| 1,800 m | Outer Space |
Every new zone gets a banner and a little burst of confetti, and every 100 meters in between gets a small chime.
Daily Sky and leaderboards
Play is the endless mode with a new sky every run. Daily Sky gives everyone the same cloud layout for the day, so you can compare heights with friends, and it keeps a day streak. Signed in players can post both to the leaderboards with the trophy button on the game over screen.
The Wardrobe
Carrots you collect are saved after every run. Spend them on outfits for the bunny.
| Outfit | Cost |
|---|---|
| Cotton | Free |
| Cocoa | 25 carrots |
| Peach | 40 carrots |
| Cozy | 60 carrots |
| Moonpie | 80 carrots |
| Daisy | 100 carrots |
| Shades | 130 carrots |
| Astro | Reach 1,500 m |
| Golden | Keep a 3 day Daily streak |
Tips for bouncing higher
There's always a safe cloud
The sky is built so a solid cloud (not crumbly, not a gray rain cloud) is always within one normal bounce of the last solid one. You never actually need a crumbly cloud. If the only thing in reach is crumbly or gray, look again, a white or moving cloud is up there somewhere, possibly across the screen edge.
Use the wrap
If the next cloud is near the far edge, it's often closer to go the other way and wrap around. Players who forget the screen wraps spend a lot of runs drifting the long way.
Steer early, then let go
The bunny speeds up and slows down smoothly rather than stopping dead. Start moving while you're still rising, then release a little before you're over the target so you drift onto it instead of overshooting. Little taps work better than long holds once clouds get narrow.
Watch the peak of each bounce
At the top of a bounce you hang for a moment. That's the best time to look up and pick the next cloud, because you only land while falling.
Treat moving clouds like a target that's walking
Aim where the cloud will be when you come down, not where it is now. Moving clouds bounce back off the sides of the screen, so near an edge, expect them to turn.
Springs and balloons are free height
A spring sends you 1.75 times higher than a normal bounce and a balloon lifts you for over two seconds. Both are worth going a little out of your way for. Keep steering on a balloon, though, because when it pops you drop onto whatever is below you.
Give storm puffs space
From 350 m on, storm puffs drift across the sky. A hit knocks you downward and kills your steering for a moment. If one is drifting toward your path, wait a bounce or wrap around it.
Grab carrots on the way, not instead
Carrots tend to float just above clouds, so you'll collect plenty without detours. A missed carrot is one carrot. A missed cloud is the run.
Questions
Is Cloud Bounce free?
Yes. It's a free jumping game you play in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with no download.
How do you jump in Cloud Bounce?
You don't have to. The bunny bounces automatically on every cloud. You only steer left and right.
Why did you fall through a cloud?
Gray rain clouds are decoys and can't be landed on. Crumbly clouds also break after one bounce.
Can you go off the side of the screen?
Yes. The screen wraps, so leaving one side brings you back on the other.
How high is space in Cloud Bounce?
The Outer Space sky starts at 1,800 meters.
How do you unlock the Astro outfit?
Reach 1,500 meters in a single run. The Golden outfit needs a 3 day Daily Sky streak.
