Sky Stack

A floor swings on a rope above your tower. Tap to drop it. Line it up and your little residents cheer. Miss the edge and the overhang gets sliced off, so the next floor is smaller.

What is Sky Stack?

Sky Stack is a one tap tower stacking game. Each new floor swings back and forth on a rope, and you tap to let it go. Whatever part of it hangs over the edge of the floor below gets cut off and falls away, so sloppy drops make your tower narrower and narrower. Miss the tower completely and the run is over.

Every floor comes with a resident (a cat, an owl, a panda, a robot, a sleepy dragon) and how well you place their floor decides how happy they are and how many coins they pay. Climb high enough and you'll leave the meadow behind for clouds, storms, night sky and finally outer space. It's free and plays in your browser on phone, tablet or computer.

How to play

Watch the swinging floor. When it's directly over the top of your tower, tap. It drops straight down and lands.

  • Perfect drop: if it lands within a few pixels of dead center, it snaps into place with no cut at all.
  • Good drop: it lands a bit off and the overhang is sliced away. The new floor is only as wide as the part that overlapped.
  • Miss: if it doesn't overlap the floor below at all, it tumbles off and the tower is done.

Controls on phone and computer

Tap anywhere on a phone or tablet. On a computer, click, or press Space, Enter or Down. Esc or P pauses.

Perfect streaks grow your floors back

This is the most useful rule to know. Floors don't just shrink. If you've just made a perfect drop, the next floor comes out wider, up to the starting width. One perfect adds a little width back. Three or more perfects in a row add twice as much. You'll see a green Wider! pop up when it happens. So a thin tower can be rescued with a few clean drops in a row.

Residents and coins

You also get 5 bonus coins every 10 floors. There are 15 residents to meet: Cat, Owl, Frog, Bunny, Bear and Penguin are common; Fox, Panda, Octopus and Chick are uncommon; Robot, Ghost, Sleepy Dragon, Alien and Star Sprite are rare. Rare residents are much more likely right after a perfect drop, and some of them show up far more often once you've built high enough: the Sleepy Dragon in the Storm Belt, the Ghost and Star Sprite in the Night Sky, and the Alien in Outer Space.

The six sky zones

Every 10 floors you rise into a new zone. The swing also gets quicker as the tower grows.

FloorsZoneWhat changes
0 to 9MeadowCalm, the place to learn the swing.
10 to 19Cloud DeckFaster swing.
20 to 29Sunset HeightsFaster again.
30 to 39Storm BeltStrong wind pushes the rope and blows falling floors sideways.
40 to 49Night SkyA lighter wind.
50 and upOuter SpaceLow gravity, so floors fall slower, and the whole rope drifts side to side.

Modes

Play

Endless stacking. Build as high as you can. Your best height is saved and goes on the leaderboard if you're signed in.

Daily Tower

The same swings and the same residents for everybody that day. It resets at midnight UTC, you can replay it, and daily play builds a streak.

Blueprints

Twelve challenges to clear in order, each paying 20 coins plus 5 more for every step up the list. Some ask for an exact number of perfect drops, which means you sometimes have to miss center on purpose.

  1. Reach 8 floors
  2. Reach 10 floors with at least 2 perfect drops
  3. Reach 12 floors with exactly 3 perfect drops
  4. Reach 15 floors with at least 5 perfect drops
  5. Reach 12 floors, every floor at least 110 wide
  6. Reach 20 floors
  7. Reach 15 floors with exactly 6 perfect drops
  8. Reach 10 floors with 4 perfect drops in a row
  9. Reach 25 floors with at least 8 perfect drops
  10. Reach 18 floors with exactly 9 perfect drops
  11. Reach 32 floors, into the storm
  12. Reach 30 floors with exactly 15 perfect drops

Tips for a taller tower

  • Watch the shadow, not the floor. While a floor swings, a faint shadow strip shows on top of your tower where it would land, and it turns gold when you're lined up for a perfect. The floor falls straight down with no sideways carry, so tap the instant the strip goes gold.
  • Your tower drifts, so the sweet spot moves. Off center drops shift the top of the tower left or right, and the swing doesn't follow it. Once the top has wandered to one side, stop tapping at the middle of the swing out of habit and wait for the gold strip.
  • Chase streaks, not single perfects. Three perfects in a row grows the next floors back twice as fast as one. If you get two in a row, slow down and focus on the third.
  • Don't panic on a thin tower. A narrow floor isn't the end. The perfect window is the same size no matter how wide your floor is, and each perfect gives width back.
  • Lead the wind in the Storm Belt. The on-screen arrows show which way it's blowing. Wind pushes falling floors sideways, and the shadow strip doesn't account for that, so release slightly upwind of where it says.
  • In space, ignore the middle of the screen. Up there the whole rope drifts side to side, so the swing's center keeps moving. Trust the gold strip.
  • For exact Blueprints, count before you miss. Once you've hit the number of perfects you need, drop safely off center so you keep most of the floor without snapping it. Going one over fails the Blueprint right away.
  • Mind the width rule. The 110 wide Blueprint fails the moment any floor is narrower. Keep a couple of safe, near center drops in hand rather than gambling for perfects.
  • Farm coins in the Meadow. The swing is slowest down low. Perfects there are worth 3 coins each and set up the streak that keeps your tower wide for the climb.

Questions

Is Sky Stack free?

Yes. Sky Stack is a free tower stacking game that runs in your browser on phone, tablet or computer.

How do you get a perfect drop?

Release the floor so it lands almost exactly centered on the floor below. It snaps into place and nothing gets cut off.

Why is your tower getting thinner?

Any part of a floor that hangs past the edge below is cut away. Perfect drops in a row make the next floors wider again.

How high can you build?

There's no top. Past 50 floors you're in Outer Space with low gravity, and the tower keeps going as long as you keep landing floors.

How do you find rare residents?

Make perfect drops. Rare residents are much more likely right after one, and a few prefer the higher zones.

What are Blueprints?

Twelve stacking challenges with specific goals, like reaching a height with an exact number of perfect drops. Each one pays coins the first time you clear it.
