Write letters, build a train!
On a big chalkboard, every letter is a train line waiting to be built. Your child puts a finger on the green dot and follows the arrows, and a little steam engine lays golden track right behind the finger. Finish the letter and its animal hops into a new car: B brings a bear, little b brings a baby bear, and 3 brings a car with three balloons.
Chalkline Express is about letter formation: where each letter starts, which line comes first, which way the pen goes, and where the letter sits between the lines. It follows the handwriting part of the Kindergarten and Grade 1 language standards most US schools use.
Tap All aboard! to start a trip of four letters. The first time a letter appears, a ghost engine drives each stroke while a finger shows the way. Then it is your child's turn: put a finger on the green dot and follow the arrows. The engine follows the finger and lays track. Numbers on the board show which line comes next.
Going off the path is never a fail. A puff of chalk dust, the track rolls back a little, and the engine waits with a green glow right where your child left off. Lifting the finger is fine too: the track stays, and your child picks up again at the engine.

Ages 4 to 6, about Pre-K to Grade 1. Younger children can start with capitals and numbers only; a grown-up can turn lowercase on later.
No. Tracing only lays track when the finger follows the path in the right direction, and writing alone is checked for the real shape, stroke order and direction. A scribble or a different letter is not accepted.
